Gwen Sabo

Vice President, Talent

Seek to understand, then to be understood.

— Dr. Stephen Covey

Gwen empowers others to perform at their best. True to Dr. Covey’s words of wisdom, her style is to listen first and understand human motivation. Once she gets a sense for someone, be it a co-worker, client, or friend, she has a unique ability to figure out what they need — creating new paths and opportunities. She applies this strength and intuition to mentor, develop, and build effective training programs for our delivery team. Gwen confesses the best part is learning just as much in return! She also finds hitting her yoga mat and strolling along Ventura Boulevard on a sunny day generates creative ideas and opportunities.

Gwen’s 20 years in executive search give her a sophisticated grasp on identifying and recruiting superb talent, but her true passion comes from applying that knowledge to building internal training programs. At Acertitude, Gwen heads our internal recruitment efforts, training and development programs, and employee relations, creating consistencies and processes that support our growth and our ability to provide a better search experience.

Gwen’s path led to Acertitude through the melding of Olive Avenue Search Partners into the Acertitude family. As the co-founder of Olive Avenue, she worked with clients across a broad range of industries, with a focus on financial services.

Previously, Gwen taught executive search best practices at Heidrick & Struggles North America, serving as manager and mentor to new search professionals for 13 years. All the while, she also managed executive-level clients and searches.

Gwen is a native of Brooklyn, NY, and grew up as the youngest of four girls. How things can change! Today, she lives in Los Angeles and is the only girl in a house full of boys. You can find her whipping up a three-meat dinner for her people — carnivores in a land of vegetarians. Although, if you stop in, generous accommodations are made for all diets — paleo, vegan, kosher, Beverly Hills, and halal, among others.
