Jamie Duffield

You get what you focus on. You don’t have to work harder; it’s not through doing more hours, it is by being more focused within those hours.

The Inquisitive Mind

Jamie believes success is being energized about both work and life. No wonder, he always seems to operate with vigor and a happy disposition. On the constant prowl for inspiration, Jamie is curious about pretty much everything: history, business, tennis, discovering local eateries. He’s also got incredible willpower, no less than evidenced by crossing the finish of the Paris Marathon in 2017. Although some might credit his work ethic to his morning coffee(s), Jamie would likely attribute it to the values-driven, quality colleagues and friends he surrounds himself with. Plus, all that he learned about resilience and organization from the high-intensity training schedule of rowing at school.

Jamie is principal with 10 years of experience straddling top-tier management consulting to Big 5 global recruiting to private equity-specialized boutiques to politics. Merging his extraordinary business savvy with his creativity, Jamie identifies and engages candidates for a range of C-level roles across the professional services, business services, and industrial sectors. Functionally, his unique specialties include operational restructuring and supply chain and geographically extensive knowledge of the DACH region.

Before joining Acertitude, Jamie was a senior associate on the Industrial and Professional Services team at a London-based executive search firm. There, he provided support to various private equity investors through pre-deal advisement, transaction assistance, and post-deal executive search. Previously, Jamie was an Associate at Egon Zehnder, where he project managed board and C-level search assignments for both public and private equity-backed companies across multiple geographies.  He was also responsible for senior-level and Partner hiring as talent acquisition lead for the Recovery Transformation Services practice at McKinsey & Company, Munich.

Jamie holds an MA (Hons) in History from the University of St Andrews in Scotland and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the FOM University for Economics & Management in Germany.

Based in London, Jamie uses his free time to explore the vibrant city. A cycle through Richmond park, a stroll through an uncharted neighborhood, and a stop-off at a pub with friends shape an ideal weekend for Jamie. Determined to stay active mentally and physically, he frequently enjoys playing tennis, an afternoon of backgammon, or any opportunity to ski.
