Kerstyn Desjardin

Data Specialist

We are each other’s harvest; we are each other’s business; we are each other’s magnitude and bond.

— Gwendolyn Brooks

The Bibliophile

Kerstyn has had a pretty unique office for most of her life: the library. Her experience there spans the gamut of creating highly curated reader advisories to once spending an entire summer vacuuming the top of every book in her college’s library. Kerstyn is our go-to for good book recommendations. (Her favorite genres? Horror and young adult.) Born and raised in Rhode Island, she loves to keep her free time purposeful. You may find her in rehearsal for a new community play, canvassing for a local election, or at the craft store picking up supplies for her next art project – whether upcycling something, knitting a new hat, or trying out a cool new cross stitch. Her favorite way to spend an evening is either watching a bad horror movie or hosting a (super competitive) board game night with her family, friends, and cat named Nemo.

At Acertitude, Kerstyn is a problem-solving data specialist who confidently uses the technical aspect of her library-based experience (like data entry, organization, information gathering, and so on) to help people land breakthrough roles. Here, she works with the data team to streamline information in creative ways and help implement processes that make work quicker and more efficient. She’s highly skilled in finding creative ways to approach new challenges. Her greatest career goal is to exist fully and openly with others, and to both enrich and be enriched by her community.

Before working at Acertitude, Kerstyn experience spans customer service, employee hiring, technical services, and administrative assistance. She’s worked at places like Paul Cuffee Charter School, Pawtucket Public Library, and the James P. Adams Library. She has a bachelor’s degree in English and Creative Writing from Rhode Island College.

Kerstyn lives in Providence, Rhode Island with her husband, Andrew, and daughter, Regan. She loves spending time with her large extended family there – including her ten first cousins.
