Acertitude Recruits Alan Blake as Executive Vice President for Ventura Foods.

Respected executive to lead Operations for food solutions provider

New York, NY, November 12, 2015 – Alan W. Blake has been named executive vice president, operations for Ventura Foods, the California-based provider of a wide array of custom and branded food products and services for the foodservice, retail and ingredient food businesses nationally and internationally.  As one of the most senior members of the Ventura leadership team, Blake will direct all company operations, building on the firm’s distinctive “customer-first” philosophy to continue Ventura’s growth and emergence as the innovative solutions provider and preferred partner for customers.

In his new role, Alan will lead supply-chain strategy, sourcing and procurement, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, logistics planning, forecasting, quality, engineering and supply-chain information technology. 

“He has the experience and drive to do it all very well, and his attitude and approach make him a great fit for Ventura as they expand the value they offer to the food sector,” said Kevin O’Neill, founder and managing partner of Acertitude.

Blake brings more than two decades of direct operational and managerial experience in the food and beverage industry, as well as tenure in leadership roles in other consumer-product manufacturing, distribution, marketing and sales.  His resume includes increasingly challenging and complex executive roles for leading firms such as Campbell Soup Company, Ocean Spray, The Procter & Gamble Company, and Brown-Forman Corporation.

Since its founding in 1996 through a merger of Holsum Foods and Wilsey Foods, Ventura Foods has emerged as a major manufacturer and supplier of dressings, sauces, mayos, oils, shortenings, margarine, bases and pan coatings.  Today, Ventura is the largest company of its type, with more than $2.5 billion in revenues and more than 3 billion pounds of finished products annually.  The company employs approximately 2,500 individuals in 15 U.S. locations, including its Southern California headquarters and 11 manufacturing plants, foodservice operations, R&D, sales and export operations.
