Acertitude Recruits David Heimbach as COO for Rise Broadband

Fast-growing Colorado broadband provider taps proven telecom leader

New York, NY, October 22, 2015 – David L. Heimbach has accepted the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Rise Broadband, the nation’s largest fixed wireless broadband service provider, based in Englewood, CO.  In his new role, Heimbach will lead the firm’s continuing effort to expand broadband services for customers across 16 states, with overall operational responsibility for Rise’s aggressive plan to provide reliable, high-speed internet and digital voice service to residential and commercial customers underserved by current phone, satellite and cable providers.

“David brings a unique mix of technological expertise and business acumen that perfectly matches our ambitions and strategy,” said Jack Koo, president, chief executive officer and director of Rise.  “My colleagues and I look forward to working with him to continue the aggressive growth path we’re on.  His experience and dynamic personality will make our leadership team even stronger than before.”

Heimbach previously was COO for Cincinnati Bell, with an extensive record of career accomplishment spanning nearly two decades, beginning with product sales and customer service management, steadily progressing in his various company roles to operational management of a profit and loss responsibility exceeding $1 billion.

“This is an exciting opportunity that allows me to leverage my broadband, VoIP and video experience to help Rise execute on its strategic growth plan,” Heimbach said.  “Rise brings higher speed access to an underserved market in both the residential and commercial markets across much of the country.  My focus will be to partner with Jack and every employee at all levels of the company to provide a better choice for consumers and businesses – fast, reliable broadband and value added services like voice and video, with the quality and service people expect.”

Rise previously operated as JAB Broadband, before being rebranded by its private owners under the Rise name earlier this year.  Rise operates throughout rural and suburban portions of 16 states across the Midwest, Rocky Mountain and Southwest regions of the country, serving approximately 200,000 residential and commercial broadband users.

Heimbach is a graduate of Ohio University and has completed graduate studies in economics and finance.  He is also a current and past board member of several nonprofit and civic organizations, and has been active in a number of business and professional organizations throughout his career.

“David and Rise are a great fit,” said Rick DeRose, founder and managing partner at Acertitude.   “He brings an exceptional track record of accomplishment across every stage of his career, and Rise provides him a great opportunity to apply all that knowledge to accomplishing still more.  The company gets a great senior executive, and Dave can pursue a highly rewarding career, professionally and personally.”

DeRose noted that Acertitude’s success in identifying and recruiting candidates of Heimbach’s stature for industry-leading firms such as Rise is based on a unique re-imagining of the role of executive recruitment.

Clients tell us they want and value a search experience that leads to better hiring decisions,” DeRose added.  “Our job is to go beyond simply finding talented business leaders,” he said.  “We work to understand the talent needs of each client, and to apply that to an approach that combines original research, a data-driven selection process and special focus on integrating new executives so that they can make meaningful contributions quickly, and remain engaged over time.
