The Innovative Artist
Mike—Texas born, but Connecticut raised—isn’t just our in-house design specialist. He is also ready with all (well, almost all) your automotive and aviation queries. Mike once spent four years fixing radar and electronic systems on F-15 fighter jets as a member of the Air Force. He also once served on the Connecticut Air National Guard. He had dreams of being a military aviation electronics specialist. But—also having been an epic notebook-margin doodler throughout school—a career in a creative field beckoned loudly. His first design job after graduating sent him to the other side of the world as a apprentice for a branding and design agency in Denmark. Here, his design career began—which now spans several decades.

As our creative and articulate visionary at Acertitude, Mike is a senior graphic designer. Here, he develops and executes our collective visual voice as a firm, spanning everything from infographics, thought pieces, and events to social, website, and press visuals.
Before Acertitude, Mike spent over 20 years as a graphic designer, art director, and project manager at global management consulting firm, Oliver Wyman. Here, as a member of a substantial global creative team, he collaborated with entity stakeholders, managed creative assets for the firm’s Health & Life Sciences practice, and delivered artistic direction for numerous rebrands and executive-focused events.
Mike’s professional experience also includes work as a project manager and designer at Red Brick Design where he helped support clients like Compaq, and a Consulting Senior Designer at Arthur D. Little where he offered freelance graphic design support to their marketing team. He’s also worked as an illustrator, assistant art director, and production artist over the years. Mike graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a BFA in Illustration and Graphic Design.
Outside of work, Mike and his wife, Virginia, enjoy travel together and sometimes with Olivia, their street-smart and very wily rescue dog. In his spare time, over many years, Mike and Virginia have found—and continue to find—deep joy in adopting a succession of both younger and older dogs in need of a home, including some from rescue organizations. When Mike’s not working, his early love of anything with wheels and wings continues unabated (except for the lying on cold garage floor concrete part, that he can do without these days), translating into a steadfast passion for cars. As an automotive hobbyist, he greatly appreciates tinkering in the garage with cars that are both gently-loved and in need of a little TLC.
