NEW YORK (August 24, 2022) – Acertitude, the executive search firm unleashing human potential, has placed Brent Baumann as the chief executive offer of Lufkin, a portfolio company of KPS Capital Partners and a leading global provider of rod lift products, technologies, and solutions for the oil and gas industry. Headquartered in Missouri City, Texas, Lufkin has an extensive global service footprint that operates in every critical rod lift market in the world.

Baumann joins as a world-class executive with nearly three decades of experience in leading energy and industrials businesses through transformation and growth in complex global operating environments.

As CEO, he will continue to expand Lufkin’s enterprise value and platform—building on its legendary reputation for reliability, superior technology, innovation, customer service, and a global footprint. Lufkin has already acquired several complementary businesses since being acquired by KPS in 2020, benefitting customers with new technologies and products.

Baumann was successfully recruited to the CEO position by Acertitude’s Industrial practice, which is highly specialized in the CEO function. The search was co-led by Acertitude’s Kevin O’Neill, co-founder and managing partner, and Geoff Votta, partner.

Prior to joining Lufkin, Baumann served as chief technology officer and senior vice president of global product lines for international energy services company Weatherford. Prior to that, he worked at oilfield services company Schlumberger as well as its subsidiary Cameron, a leading provider of flow equipment products, systems, and services worldwide.

Baumann graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, later serving as an officer in the U.S. Army for seven years. He also earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.
