NEW YORK (December 12, 2023) — Acertitude, the executive search firm unleashing human potential, has recruited Guy Roberts as the chief financial officer of Thompson Safety, the fastest-growing safety services company in North America. Headquartered in Houston, TX, the company helps environmental, health, and safety professionals more efficiently manage their safety programs.

Under Roberts’ financial leadership and with backing from Berkshire Partners, Thompson Safety is focused on expanding into new markets, executing acquisitions, and strengthening central support infrastructure to ultimately become the preferred single-sourced vendor for fire and life safety needs.

Roberts, a seasoned CFO with over 25 years of experience in global accounting and finance across public practice, oilfield services, and safety supplies, will be instrumental in propelling Thompson Safety towards significant profitability and strategic growth, thereby driving investor returns. His expertise lies in aligning financial performance with strategic planning and analysis, which will aid in cementing the company’s position as a leader in its field.

The search was led by Principal, Max Stubenvoll, who oversees business services in North America. In addition to Corporate & Financial Officers, the team has functional capabilities that span Board & CEO, Operations & Supply Chain, Transformation & Restructuring, Commercial Officers, and Technology & Cyber Officers.

Prior to joining Thompson Safety, Roberts served as the CFO at Yellowjacket Oilfield Services, where he drove a business turnaround during industry recession to record profitability. He also held two CFO roles at Baker Hughes, focused on the global chemicals and North Arabia sectors. He holds a BA in Finance and Accounting from Liverpool John Moores University and is a member of the ICAEW.
