NEW YORK (August 10, 2023) — Acertitude, the executive search firm unleashing human potential, has recruited Charlie Newark-French as the new chief executive officer of SharpenCX, an all-in-one unified contact center platform. SharpenCX is on the forefront of innovation in the industry, with backing from TELEO Capital, an operationally focused private equity firm focused on investments in the software & technology, healthcare IT, business services, and industrial sectors.

As CEO, Newark-French will apply his experience in the UCaaS space and AI deployment at the enterprise level, bringing a modern technology stack to contact centers to fuel top-line growth and propel rapid digital transformation. He will liaise with the leadership team and Teleo Capital team as he shapes an exciting vision for the business, as well as further accelerating the product roadmap and go-to-market efforts.

Newark-French is an established executive with robust experience leading the impressive build and transformation of several cloud-based enterprise software companies and deploying cutting edge software, including AI. He brings a wealth of experience partnering with investment firms, leading a handful of successful private equity exits and an IPO.

The CEO search was led by Scott Carberry, senior partner, who specializes in the Technology and Private Equity sectors. By partnering closely to understand the value creation plan and getting to know the stakeholders, the team was able to develop a clear success profile and find a candidate in a prompt 67 days.

“Charlie is a proven enterprise SaaS leader. His leadership, along with SharpenCX’s next-gen AI platform, well-positions the business to disrupt the $40B contact center market,” said Carberry. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with TELEO and supporting SharpenCX in their pursuit of accelerated growth, innovation, and transformation with a focus on leveraging AI.”

Prior to taking the helm at SharpenCX, Newark-French held a combined CEO/COO role at innovative machine learning software company, Hyperscience. Under his leadership, the company progressed from Series B to Series E funding, resulting in a valuation of $1.6 billion. Newark-French has held additional leadership roles at cloud-based communications provider, Fuze, and enterprise software VC fund, Fusion Global Capital.

In addition to the CEO placement at SharpenCX, Acertitude has partnered with TELEO to strengthen the leadership teams for several other portfolio companies, such as Industrial Defender, Teesnap and Rand McNally.
