Q&A with Stephanie

1. Tell us about your path here. Why did you choose to join Acertitude?

Over the course of the past 11 years, I have worked at Fortune 500 companies, a boutique ad agency, and have had experience in both B2C and B2B worlds throughout various industries. I felt that the natural next step in my career was to take on a new and exciting challenge from an industry perspective. I found executive search and private equity equally alluring.

Once I met with members of the team and discussed the firm's vision, culture, and outlook on the marketing and strategy function, I was sold. I couldn't wait to join a team whose personal and professional spirit fell in lock step with mine. Knowing that the work I do helps contribute to an individual's success and an organization's ability to harness brilliant talent is very fulfilling.

2. Describe a day in your life. Favorite parts of your job?

Each day is a beautiful potpourri of all things marketing. I am fortunate enough to touch a wide variety of functions, including content development and strategy, digital marketing, PR, internal communications, events, and more. I work on something different Monday through Friday, which is both refreshing and exciting, allowing my creative juices to constantly flow.

I love connecting with our internal team and brainstorming as to how we can best-elevate their brands in the market, as well as pique the interest of our target demographics. Additionally, I am a big fan of marketing experimentation - trying new methodologies and strategies and seeing if they net a positive result.

3. What is special about working here?

Truly, the people. This is a very collaborative environment and tight-knit group. If you have questions, anyone and everyone will do their best to help you answer them. People will support you both personally and professionally. From the top down, our organization leads with and celebrates a people-first culture, caring about each individual as a human being. It is an absolute game-changer.

We are a global firm, and being exposed to different cultures and parts of the world is eye-opening in the world of business and relationships. It has been a privilege to form a bond with our European colleagues via Slack and Zoom - and receive parenting advice to boot!

4. How has Acertitude helped you grow and perform at your best?

I am challenged daily. I am on a constant quest to think differently and task myself with the question, "Would our clients find this impactful or poignant?" in everything that I do.

My strengths are celebrated here. Company morale is great, which only fuels dedication and productivity. I feel supported in all aspects, know that I have great teachers and mentors, and am confident that I will continually learn something new. What more can you ask for?

5. In what ways - big or small - do you live out our mission of unleashing human potential?

I feel that I was put on this earth to be a storyteller - to share my experiences through the written and spoken word to help other people through the good, the bad, and the ugly that life has to offer. I have published a book, newsletters, and articles in various publications that help me live up to what I feel my purpose is.

I am raising a toddler. My daughter has helped me unleash more human potential than I thought possible. She keeps me going on the toughest of days, makes my happiest seem exponentially brighter, and most of all, I have the privilege of guiding her on life's journey to unleash hers.

6. What advice do you have for people looking to join Acertitude? What qualities do people need to be successful here?

You have to be a people person. Relationship building is at the core of business, regardless of industry, but it is truly foundational here.

You have to be accountable. Accountability breeds trust and loyalty, which are key qualities in developing strong internal and external partnerships. The well-oiled machine only runs smoothly when everyone fulfills their responsibilities.

You must always be willing to learn. Never aim to be the smartest person in the room. Be hungry for more knowledge, greater expertise, and absorb all of it however, whenever, and wherever you can.

Stephanie at a glance:

Our culture is:engaging, fast-paced, and progressive.
I live by the fundamental:take extreme ownership. Don't walk the walk without talking the talk.
The most valuable lesson I've learned is:try your best to be a good, quality person. People make the world go round - the first step to any kind of success is treating people with kindness and respect.
